Rescue Station Arts, nestled within the historic State Coal Mine Rescue Station in Wonthaggi, offers a vibrant community hub for artistic expression. Situated on the traditional land of the Bunurong/Boonwurrung people, it provides free open access sessions, regular classes, creative workshops, and special events throughout the year. In 2023, the venue introduced new community arts activities alongside its established programs. Visitors can engage in sculptural and functional ceramics at Clayworks, explore various art forms at the Kids’ Art Club, or participate in the Open Studio program, welcoming all skill levels. The venue acknowledges its location on the traditional homelands of the Bunurong/Boonwurrung people and pays respects to their Elders—past, present, and emerging.
