Every Friday evening from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, the Salamanca Arts Centre's Courtyard transforms into a vibrant hub for live music, known as Rektango. This free, family-friendly event has been a Hobart institution for over 20 years, drawing people from all walks of life. The music spans genres like gypsy swing, funk, Latin sambas, and disco, ensuring there's always plenty of dancing. Seasonal offerings include hot mulled wine and fires in winter, and sangria in summer, alongside beers, ciders, and wine. Rektango continues rain or shine, unless canceled due to severe weather.
