Approximately 40 kilometers southeast of Wyangala, it lies within the Great Dividing Range. Established as Numby, the village was renamed Reids Flat in 1929. With a population of 85 as of the 2021 census, it offers a tranquil residential environment. The area is renowned for its fine merino wool production, supplying high-quality fleece to the Italian fashion market. While lacking commercial establishments, Reids Flat features a public hall, showground, and is surrounded by picturesque landscapes.
