Red Earth City is a temporary community established annually in the Matong State Forest, New South Wales, Australia, for the Burning Seed festival. This event is a collaborative gathering where participants co-create a vibrant city filled with art installations, theme camps, performances, and music. The community operates on principles of radical inclusion, gifting, and decommodification, fostering a cash-free environment. Each year, the city is constructed and later dismantled, leaving no trace behind, embodying the ethos of leaving no trace. The festival has been held in Matong State Forest since 2011.
