ReCranked, an initiative by Y Ballarat, specializes in refurbishing unwanted bicycles into reliable transportation for those in need. Located at 1 Holly Grove, Wendouree, the workshop operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2 pm to 5 pm. Volunteers and staff collaborate to overhaul donated bikes, providing recipients with essential maintenance education and a new helmet. Since its inception in April 2013, ReCranked has recycled over 3,000 bikes, benefiting local residents and communities abroad. The program also offers bike education in schools and has contributed bikes to countries including Cambodia, Liberia, and Namibia.
