The term "nawayiba" means "canoe place" in the Awabakal language, referring to the scar trees left behind by Aboriginal people making canoes. The theatre offers a 200-seat capacity, a 6.5m deep x 9m wide stage, a commercial kitchen, and accessible facilities, including a platform lift to the stage and a hearing loop in the auditorium. It hosts live performances, exhibitions, festivals, and private functions.
