RAAF Base Edinburgh

RAAF Base Edinburgh, situated 25 kilometers north of Adelaide, serves as a pivotal hub for the Royal Australian Air Force's intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare operations. The base is home to No. 92 Wing, which operates P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, and No. 9 Squadron, remotely piloting MQ-4C Triton unmanned aerial systems. Additionally, the Air Warfare Centre, No. 1 Remote Sensor Unit managing the Jindalee Operational Radar Network, and various support units, including No. 453 Squadron Edinburgh Flight and No. 24 (City of Adelaide) Squadron, are based here. The base's strategic importance is underscored by its role in the Edinburgh Defence Precinct, housing over 6,500 personnel from the RAAF, Army, and civilian sectors.
