Port Kembla Beach, located approximately 11 kilometers south of Wollongong's CBD, is renowned for its 6.6-kilometer stretch of white sands and clear waters, making it ideal for swimming and surfing. Established in 1910, the Port Kembla Surf Life Saving Club overlooks the northern end of the beach from its position atop a high foredune. Adjacent to the club, visitors can enjoy an Olympic-sized saltwater swimming pool with beach-style entry. The beach is patrolled from late September to late April, ensuring safety for all visitors. While dogs are not permitted on the main beach, an off-leash area is available south of the Surf Life Saving Club.
