Port Curtis is a historic and industrially significant suburb in Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia. Situated approximately 4.2 kilometers south of the Rockhampton CBD, it encompasses an area of 45.9 square kilometers and has a population of 309 residents. The Fitzroy River bounds the suburb to the north-east, with Gavial Creek flowing through its northern part. The North Coast railway line passes along the western edge, with the junction at Rocklands railway station within Port Curtis. The area is predominantly flat and low-lying, with elevations less than 10 meters above sea level. Historically, Port Curtis has been a hub for maritime activities, including the operation of the Archer Hotel, which was destroyed by fire in 2018. The suburb also hosts the Rockhampton site of mining and industrial equipment supplier Hastings Deering, a major local employer.
