Picket Fence Community Centre

The Picket Fence Community Centre, nestled within the grounds of St Mary’s Anglican Church, offers a welcoming space for companionship and community engagement. Operated by friendly volunteers, it provides morning tea and biscuits from 10 am, with lunch served from 12 noon to 1 pm for a $3 donation. The menu features hearty soups, stews, toasted sandwiches, pies, and more. On Fridays, St Mary’s Fresh Produce offers fresh fruit and vegetables for a $2 donation, with bread and milk available for an additional $1. Limited emergency assistance is available for those in need. Operating hours are Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10 am to 1:30 pm. An art group meets on Thursday mornings from 9:30 to 11:30 am, welcoming both beginners and advanced artists in watercolour and acrylic, with a $3 per session fee. The centre also hosts various group activities, including 8-ball, card games, crafts, and board games. Established in 1993, the centre has grown from its humble beginnings to become a vital community hub, fostering a safe and friendly environment for all.
