At Lillico Beach, a coastal reserve near Devonport, Tasmania, visitors can observe Little Penguins returning to their burrows each evening. The viewing platform, situated at the eastern end of the beach, offers an up-close experience with these charming birds. Volunteer guides from the Friends of Lillico Penguins are present during the breeding season, from late September to early April, to assist and educate visitors. The best time to arrive is just after sunset, as the penguins generally appear when it is getting dark. Please note that there are no facilities at the viewing platform; the nearest public toilets are at Turners Beach.
