Built in 1901, Penguin Railway Station is a historic landmark in the coastal town of Penguin, Tasmania. After passenger services ceased in 1978, the station was relocated and reopened on April 15, 2001, exactly 100 years after its original inauguration. Today, it houses the Penguin History Group, which collects and preserves local historical records and memorabilia. Adjacent to the station is the Penguin Gaol, constructed in 1902, recognized as Tasmania's smallest gaol. The station and gaol are integral parts of the Penguin Heritage Trail, offering visitors a glimpse into the town's rich past.
