Osterley is a tranquil rural locality in Tasmania's Central Highlands, approximately 35 kilometers north of Hamilton. Established in the late 1870s, it was originally known as Native Tier before adopting the name Osterley in 1892. The area is characterized by its serene landscapes and historical significance, including the heritage-listed St James the Less Anglican Church, a rare example of a corrugated iron church in the Federation Gothic style. The River Ouse forms the eastern boundary, adding to the picturesque setting of this small community.
