One Mile Beach, located in Forster, is a popular destination for surfers and families. The beach is patrolled during the swimming season (October to April) by both professional lifeguards (during school holidays) and volunteer surf lifesavers on weekends and public holidays. The northern end provides access to Bennett's Head lookout, offering 360-degree views of the area. A giant sandhill at this end is popular for sand sliding and boarding. The beach is bordered by a large park featuring barbecue facilities, picnic areas, and playground equipment. Dolphins can often be seen surfing the waves in the clear waters. The name "One Mile Beach" is derived from its distance from the Forster Post Office, not its length.
