Olinda Precinct

Nestled in the picturesque Dandenong Ranges, Olinda Precinct spans 34 hectares of transformed parkland, previously the Olinda Golf Course. The Nature Playscape offers children a large sandpit, water pumps, balancing beams, slides, flying foxes, rope courses, trampolines, cubby houses, and toadstools, all integrated with natural features like rocks and native vegetation. Local artists have contributed sculptures of wombats, owls, echidnas, and a giant gecko, along with mosaic artworks created by local school children. Visitors can enjoy picnic areas equipped with barbecues, shelters, seating, and a new toilet block. The park features a dog-off-lead area and walking trails, with dogs permitted on-lead in most areas. Olinda Green provides an adaptable open space for community events and markets, while sports enthusiasts can utilize the new sports oval, netball court, and upgraded cricket nets. The area is renowned for its towering Mountain Ash forest, lush ferns, native grasses, and diverse wildlife, including koalas, lyrebirds, wombats, wedge-tailed eagles, wallabies, powerful owls, and echidnas. Olinda Precinct is located 50 kilometers east of Melbourne, just 700 meters from the township of Olinda.
