The Old Darlington School, designed by George Allen Mansfield and completed in 1878, is a two-storey Gothic Revival building constructed of polychromatic brickwork, featuring a spire and a slate roof. It served as part of Darlington Public School until 1975, when the University of Sydney acquired the property. In 2014, the university completed a comprehensive restoration, notably returning the roof to its original 19th-century design based on historical architectural drawings. Currently, the building functions as a performance space for the university.
