Nurrutti Reserve, a 1.4-hectare nature reserve on Kyle Road between Aldgate and Mylor, features a mixed Stringybark open forest along Aldgate Creek. Established in 1964, it is part of the "Valley of the Bandicoots" project, aiming to connect habitats for the Southern Brown Bandicoot and other native species. The reserve hosts over 125 native plant species, including 16 of State or Regional significance. Notably, the southern area contains rare Candlebark gums and Red-fruited Saw Sedge. Volunteers actively manage weed control to maintain its ecological health.
