The Nunawading Community Centre, located at 16-20 Silver Grove, Nunawading VIC 3131, was a hub for various community activities, including sports, arts, and social services. In September 2020, many community groups relocated to the newly developed Nunawading Community Hub on Springvale Road. Subsequently, the Silver Grove precinct, including the Community Centre, experienced significant vandalism and was subject to squatting, leading to safety concerns. In August 2023, the Whitehorse City Council announced plans for the demolition of the Community Centre and the adjacent Meals on Wheels/Senior Citizens Centre, with demolition scheduled between August and October 2023. The site is expected to be reinstated as a public lawn area following the demolition.
