Established in 1978, the Nimbin Neighbourhood and Information Centre (NNIC) serves as the primary community services and development organization in Nimbin. Operating as a registered charity, NNIC offers a range of services, including qualified community workers providing information, crisis counseling, and advocacy. The center also offers public access to computers, internet, photocopying, laminating, and faxing. Additional services include a Centrelink Agency, emergency relief, material aid, food parcels, and a Take Home Naloxone program. Community development activities encompass Nimbin's Sustainable Living Hub, auspicing the Nimbin Community Drug Action Team, and stewardship of the Sustainable Nimbin Community Plan. The center also organizes annual events such as the Nimbin Women's Dinner and the Big Community Christmas Lunch.
