Newcastle Racecourse

Newcastle Racecourse, established over a century ago, serves as the home of the Newcastle Jockey Club and stands as the largest provincial club in New South Wales. The venue hosts more than 40 race meetings annually, including notable events like the Newcastle Stakes Race Day in March, the two-day Spring Racing Carnival in September, and the $1 million The Hunter Race Day in November. Additional major events include the Boxing Day race meeting each December and the Pink Race Day in July, which supports the Hunter Breast Cancer Foundation. The racecourse features a 2,000-meter track with a 415-meter home straight, accommodating various race distances from 900 to 2,400 meters. Recent enhancements include a $35.5 million redevelopment, introducing a new stables complex to support the growing racing community.
