Nelson Head Lighthouse Reserve Museum

Perched atop a 53-meter headland, the Nelson Head Lighthouse Reserve Museum offers panoramic views of Port Stephens. Housed in the historic lighthouse keeper's cottage, the museum showcases maritime artifacts, photographs, and historical exhibits detailing the area's rich seafaring heritage. Adjacent to the museum, the Inner Light Tea Rooms provide a delightful spot to relax, offering a range of light refreshments and meals. Visitors can also explore the surrounding reserve, which includes a working coastal patrol radio base staffed by volunteers. The museum operates daily from 10 am to 4 pm, with a gold coin donation requested for entry.
