The Stick Shed, formerly known as the Murtoa No. 1 Grain Store, stands as a testament to Australian bush ingenuity and the nation's wheat industry's strength. Completed in 1942, this National Heritage-listed structure features 560 unmilled mountain ash poles supporting a vast roof, creating a serene, cathedral-like interior. Spanning 265 meters in length and 60 meters in width, it was the first emergency bulk wheat storage shed built in Victoria and remains the only one of its kind in Australia. Visitors can explore this unique landmark daily from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
