Mount Mort is a rural locality in Queensland's City of Ipswich, covering 102 square kilometers and home to approximately 78 residents. The area features several mountain peaks, including Red Gap, Edwards Gap, and Mount Grey, with elevations ranging from 100 to 150 meters along Franklin Vale Creek to over 600 meters in the Liverpool Range. Land use is predominantly grazing on native vegetation, complemented by some forestry and crop cultivation. The Beau Brummel Conservation Park is situated in the west of the locality, offering natural beauty and recreational opportunities. The Grandchester–Mount Mort Road traverses the area, connecting Mount Mort to neighboring regions. Despite its name, there is no mountain named Mount Mort; the name was adopted during World War I to honor the Mort family, who settled there in 1849.
