Mount Howe

Mount Howe is a rural locality in Queensland's Maranoa Region, covering approximately 1,019.9 square kilometers. The area is characterized by mountainous terrain, with elevations ranging from 480 to 1,110 meters above sea level. Notable peaks include Mount Eden (854m), Mount Hetty (1,041m), Mount Ramsay, Mount Springvale (845m), and Snake Hill (1,002m). The locality is sparsely populated, with a population of 20 residents. Land use primarily involves grazing on native vegetation, and the area is home to several homesteads, including Calline Creek, Coonong, East Sunrise, Edenvale, Glendonnell, Glenolive, Lying Downs, Mount Hetty, Myrtleville, Saddler Springs, Springvale, and Sunrise. Some homesteads feature airstrips, such as Myrtleville and Calline Creek. There are no schools in Mount Howe; distance education and boarding schools are options for residents.
