The Bruce Highway and the North Coast railway line form the northern boundary of the locality, with the now-abandoned Clevedon railway station once serving the area. The locality is part of the Bowling Green Bay National Park, featuring the Alligator Creek and its waterfall within its boundaries. The mountain's highest peak, Mount Elliot, rises to 1,218 meters. The area is sparsely populated, with the 2016 census reporting a population of eight people.
