Nestled on the eastern slopes of the Dandenong Ranges, the Mount Dandenong Arboretum spans 16 hectares, showcasing a diverse collection of mature deciduous trees and conifers from around the world. Established between 1928 and 1931, it features species like monkey puzzles, kauris, and hoop pines. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks along informal paths, picnic areas with panoramic views, and vibrant bird and butterfly sightings, especially in spring and summer. Dogs are welcome on-leash, and the arboretum is open daily during daylight hours, except on days of extreme or catastrophic fire danger.
