Moorina is a rural locality in Tasmania's north-east, approximately 46 kilometers east of Scottsdale. Once a bustling tin mining center, it now offers a tranquil setting with a population of just 11 residents. The area is renowned for the Weld River Fossicking Area, a 2 km² site east of the Tasman Highway, where enthusiasts can search for sapphires, topaz, and zircon. The town's history is rich, with its original name, Krushka’s Bridge, dating back to 1869, later renamed in honor of Truganini's sister.
