Moonee Beach Nature Reserve

Moonee Beach Nature Reserve, located 15 kilometers north of Coffs Harbour, spans 336 hectares of diverse coastal landscapes, including sand plains, dunes, and four prominent headlands. This reserve is home to endangered species like little bent-winged bats and supports unique plant communities on headlands such as Bare Bluff and Look At Me Now. The area holds significant cultural value for the Gumbaynggirr people, with Look At Me Now Headland being a notable Aboriginal heritage site. Visitors can enjoy activities like fishing, surfing, diving, snorkeling, picnicking, hiking, canoeing, birdwatching, and seasonal whale watching. The estuary, part of Solitary Islands Marine Park, is particularly family-friendly.
