
Located in Monto's main street, the Monto Museum of Art (MMOA) showcases an extensive collection of approximately 3,000 works by Monto-born artist Gil Jamieson. The museum's four galleries feature storytelling artworks that vividly depict the Australian landscape, bush mysticism, rural life, industry, and history. A highlight is Jamieson's 21-meter Jay Creek panorama, painted on location west of Alice Springs in 1973. The museum also collaborates with First Nations artists, integrating their works into its exhibitions. Open Tuesday to Friday from 10 am to 3 pm and Saturday from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, entry is free, with donations welcomed.
