Monal is a serene locality in Queensland's North Burnett Region, covering 330.3 square kilometers and home to a small community of 34 residents. The area is characterized by its mountainous terrain, featuring notable peaks like Mount Graabi and Pine Mountain, both standing at 758 meters. The Degalgil State Forest lies to the northeast, while sections of Dawes National Park and Pine Mountain State Forest are situated in the east. Historically, Monal was known for its goldfield established in 1891, though mining activities have since ceased. Today, the region is primarily used for grazing on native vegetation. The Monal Cemetery Site, established in 2000, serves as a tribute to the area's early pioneers and settlers.
