
Mona Mona is a rural locality in Queensland's Far North, approximately 20 kilometers southwest of Kuranda. Established in 1913 as the Mona Mona Aboriginal Mission, it was home to the Djabugay people until its closure in 1962. The area is characterized by lush rainforests and is adjacent to the Wet Tropics of Queensland World Heritage-listed Barron Gorge National Park. Today, Mona Mona remains a place of historical and cultural significance, offering a tranquil environment amidst natural beauty.
