Molong, NSW

Housed in a charming 1860s stone building, the Molong Museum & Historical Society showcases the rich heritage of Molong and its surrounding districts. Originally constructed as the Golden Fleece Hotel, the building has been thoughtfully restored to preserve its historical significance. The museum's extensive collection includes artifacts from the Fairbridge Farm School, which operated from the early 1930s to 1975, providing a home and education for British child migrants. Visitors can explore exhibits that highlight local history, social life, and the community's evolution over time. The museum is open on Thursdays and Sundays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, with additional hours available by appointment. Admission is free, and the museum is wheelchair accessible. For research inquiries or more information, contact the museum via email at molonghs@gmail.com.
