Minimay is a rural locality in Victoria's West Wimmera Shire, approximately 400 km northwest of Melbourne and 352 km southeast of Adelaide. As of the 2016 census, it has a population of 84 residents. The area is primarily agricultural, focusing on sheep and cattle breeding, as well as arable crops irrigated by center pivot systems. Historically, Minimay hosted various sports clubs, including football, cricket, and tennis, but these have since ceased operations. The community gathers at the Minimay Memorial Hall, built in 1975, for events and fundraisers. Notably, poet John Shaw Neilson grew up in Minimay during the 1880s.
