Meryla Flora Reserve, established in July 2022, spans 4,035 hectares in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. Situated in Gundungurra Country near Moss Vale, it adjoins Morton National Park to the south, collectively forming one of the state's largest conservation areas. The reserve features an elevated sandstone plateau with waterfalls, weathered sandstone caves, overhangs, and deep, narrow gorges. It provides habitat for various species, including bats that inhabit its sandstone caves and overhangs, platypus in its still waters, and nomadic birds like yellow-tailed black cockatoos, wattle birds, and yellow-faced honeyeaters that feed on its heath vegetation.
