The Meredith Shire Hall, constructed in 1878, is a Victorian eclectic-style building featuring squared, rockfaced basalt with a prominent central gabled portico and segmental arched arcade. The Meredith History Interest Group (MHIG) occupies this historic site, housing a collection of books, documents, and photographs pertinent to Meredith and its district. The building has also served as the Meredith Kindergarten for many years. MHIG is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Meredith and its surrounding areas.
