Constructed between 1923 and 1924, the building showcases a neo-Greek style, characteristic of Masonic architecture, and is notable for its distinctive domed roof. The name "Ivalda" is derived from the first two letters of the Ivanhoe, Alphington, and Darebin Lodges. The interior boasts a black and white linoleum tiled floor and a canopy crafted from Tasmanian Blackwood. The temple has been continuously occupied by the Masonic community since its completion and is listed by the Heritage Council of Victoria.
