Located at 95 Allpass Parade, Shorncliffe QLD 4017, Volunteer Marine Rescue Brisbane (VMR401) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing marine search and rescue services in Moreton Bay and surrounding waterways. Operating 24/7, VMR401 offers a vessel monitoring service every weekend and public holiday from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The base is strategically situated adjacent to Brisbane Airport and the Port of Brisbane, facilitating efficient response times. VMR401 collaborates closely with other emergency services, including the Queensland Water Police, Queensland Ambulance Service, and the State Emergency Service (SES), ensuring a coordinated approach to maritime safety. The organization operates three purpose-built rescue vessels: Sands Rescue, Sandgate II, and Sandgate III, each equipped with advanced safety and communication equipment to effectively respond to emergencies.
