Local Connections, located on Level 2 of the Shortland Building at the University of Newcastle's Callaghan campus, offers a unique dining experience that celebrates the vibrant cuisine of Newcastle and the Hunter region. The restaurant combines fresh, colorful ingredients into creative farm-to-table dishes, working primarily with local suppliers to strengthen the connection between the University and the community. With seating for up to 80 guests and the option to accommodate up to 150 in a cocktail-style setting, Local Connections is an ideal venue for business events, networking, and private functions. The light-filled space features an outdoor balcony overlooking the campus's lush bushland, providing a serene backdrop for any occasion. The menu changes frequently to highlight seasonal flavors, and the team includes University students, offering them valuable hands-on experience. Parking is available in Carpark 5 next to the Shortland Building and along Shortland Road.
