Little Topar is a small village located along the Barrier Highway in Western New South Wales, situated between Broken Hill and Wilcannia. The area is named after Topar, an Indigenous Australian man who guided Charles Sturt into the Barrier Ranges in 1844. Today, Little Topar features a roadhouse and a rest area, providing travelers with essential amenities such as toilets, picnic tables, and fixed BBQs. The rest area is pet-friendly and offers ample space for parking, accommodating large vehicles. Visitors can enjoy short walks and access to fire pits, though they should bring their own firewood. While there is no mobile phone reception, the area offers a peaceful stopover in the heart of the Australian outback.
