Lilyvale, located at 176 Cumberland Street in The Rocks, is a heritage-listed building constructed between 1845 and 1847. Originally built as a townhouse for innkeeper Michael Farrell, it has served various roles, including a tavern and boarding house, and is now a restaurant. The three-storey, double-fronted brick residence exemplifies the Colonial Regency style, featuring a parapet on the first-floor front elevation, a verandah at ground level, and a prominent gabled roof with attic rooms lit by dormer windows. Internally, it retains original cedar joinery, fireplaces, doors, windows, and plasterwork. Lilyvale was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on 10 May 2002.
