Housed in a historic 1874 bluestone and brick building, Langi Morgala Museum showcases Ararat's rich history through diverse exhibits. The museum's Aboriginal name translates to "home of yesterday," reflecting its dedication to preserving the past. Displays include photographs, dressed models, clothing, and farm machinery, highlighting the 1856 gold mining rush. Notably, it houses the largest collection of Aboriginal artefacts in Victoria, featuring the Mooney and Best collections. Visitors can explore themed rooms depicting domestic life and view large machinery in the refurbished blacksmith's shop. The museum also honors local figures like Olympic cyclist Shane Kelly. Open Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 3 pm, and Saturday from 1 pm to 4 pm.
