The King of the Ranges Stockman's Challenge & Bush Festival, held annually at the Rosedale Equine Complex in Murrurundi, NSW, celebrates Australian bush heritage. Over three days, competitors showcase traditional skills such as cattle work, pack-horse tasks, bareback riding, whip cracking, horseshoeing, and cross-country jumping. Finalists demonstrate their prowess by catching and leading a wild horse and riding a buckjumper to determine the King of the Ranges. The accompanying Bush Festival features bush poetry, folklore, horsemanship displays, billy goat cart races, live music, and local cuisine, offering a vibrant experience of Upper Hunter hospitality.
