Kensington Gardens Reserve, also known as Kensington Wama, is the largest recreational area in the City of Burnside, offering a diverse range of facilities for all ages. The award-winning Burnside Adventure Park features a six-meter-high wooden log structure supporting swings and a giant's platform, inspired by the nearby gum trees. The playground includes a pyramid rope climb, timber modular units with slides, flying foxes, swings, spinners, a slippery dip, spinning 'bowl' seats, spring-mounted 'bikes', and a bridge with a tunnel. The reserve also offers public toilets, including accessible facilities, BBQ and picnic areas, and ample parking. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy hard-court and grass tennis courts, cricket nets, basketball hoops, and rugby union fields. The reserve is home to several sporting clubs, including the Kensington Gardens Bowling and Tennis Club Inc, East Torrens – Kensington Gardens Hard-court Tennis Club, Kensington District Cricket Club, and Burnside Rugby Union Football Club. The area is also home to the Kensington Gardens Pre-school. The reserve features new bridges over the creek, viewing decks, and a boardwalk over the wetland, enhancing its natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy walking paths, bird watching in protected bushland areas, and picnics or barbecues in picturesque settings. The reserve is wheelchair accessible, with pram ramps leading to the playground and a disabled car park with path access. Dogs are permitted on-lead in the wetland area. The reserve is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
