Established in 1942, this centre serves as the primary training ground for all Australian Army recruits, earning it the nickname "Home of the Soldier." The base offers comprehensive training programs, including marksmanship, physical conditioning, navigation, and military customs. Additionally, the Australian Army Band Kapooka, based here since 1952, provides musical support to the centre and the Riverina community.
