Johanna Beach

Nestled between coastal sand dunes and lush hinterland, Johanna Beach Campground offers a serene seaside retreat along the Great Ocean Road. This campground features 25 non-powered sites, each providing a peaceful setting just steps from the unpatrolled, westerly-facing surf beach. Amenities are basic, including non-flush toilets and no showers, so campers should bring their own water supplies. Dogs are permitted on leads, ensuring a pet-friendly environment. The area is renowned for its excellent surf breaks, making it a haven for experienced surfers. Additionally, the campground serves as a gateway to nearby attractions such as Melba Gully, the Twelve Apostles, Cape Otway Lightstation, and Triplet Falls, all within an hour's drive. For those interested in hiking, a section of the Great Ocean Walk is accessible from the campground, offering stunning coastal views. Please note, Johanna Beach is an important nesting area for the threatened Hooded Plover; to protect this species, visitors are advised to walk below the high tide mark.
