Established in 1987 by the traditional owners, the community emphasizes the preservation of Nyikina-Mangala law and culture. It features a community office, a women's center, and operates tourist ventures and community development programs. The Nyikina Mangala Community School, catering to students from kindergarten to year 10, was established in 2000 to provide appropriate educational services for the community.
