Holcim's Beenleigh Quarry, situated on Peachey Road in Ormeau, Queensland, supplies essential raw materials for major building and infrastructure projects across South East Queensland. The quarry operates Monday to Friday from 7 am to 6 pm, with some planned maintenance works permissible to 10 pm, and Saturday mornings from 8 am to 12 noon for sales, carting, and maintenance only. Blasting occurs approximately once a month, conducted by a licensed contractor, with no explosive materials stored on-site. Holcim provides an SMS blast notification system to inform local residents of estimated blast times. The quarry is committed to environmental responsibility, with regular monitoring of noise, vibration, air quality, and stormwater in compliance with the Environmental Protection Act 1999. Holcim also engages with the local community through a voluntary Community Consultative Committee, established in 2013, to share information and address concerns.
