
Located near Nowra in the Shoalhaven region of New South Wales, HMAS Albatross is the Royal Australian Navy's sole air station and its largest operational establishment. Established in August 1948, it serves as the home port for five naval squadrons, including 723, 725, 808, 816, and 822X Squadrons, which provide essential air support to the fleet. The base also hosts the Fleet Air Arm Museum, a prominent tourist attraction featuring a unique collection of aircraft, artifacts, and memorabilia. The surrounding coastal area offers opportunities for fishing, swimming, water skiing, horse riding, trail bike riding, canoeing, skydiving, and gliding.
