Originally established as the Home for Incurables, it later became known as the Julia Farr Centre, providing residential care for individuals with disabilities. The site features a nine-storey main building offering expansive views of the Adelaide CBD, the Adelaide Hills, and the sea. In 2020, the facility ceased operations, and the property was sold in 2024 to Living Choice and Opal HealthCare. Plans are underway to redevelop the site into a high-end residential, retirement, and aged care precinct, while considering a memorial to honor its legacy.
