Hallett Power Station, located in Canowie, South Australia, is a gas-fired power facility commissioned in 2001. It comprises 12 General Electric Frame 5 gas turbine generators, delivering a combined capacity of approximately 203 MW. The station primarily utilizes natural gas from the Moomba pipeline, with diesel as a backup fuel. In 2007, EnergyAustralia acquired the plant, which now contributes to the National Electricity Market. Plans are underway to develop a 50 MW/200 MWh battery energy storage system at the site, aiming to enhance grid stability and support renewable energy integration.
